PYROHY PROJECT: The Pyrohy Project will be held on Monday, Nov. 30 to prepare and Tuesday, Dec. 1 for the making and filling of orders. This project cannot be accomplished without the help. If you can possibly help in any way it would be appreciated. Try to lend a hand for you Church fund-raiser. An order sheet is in the vestibule and the orders will be limited.

LOTTERY: Only one week remains for the lottery tickets. If you did not buy yours, now is the opportunity to do so and have a chance to be a winner. The tickets are only $5 for the month of November.

SANCTUARY LIGHT: The Sanctuary light is requested to burn this week October 24 – 31 by Helene Sirak in memory of her husband Michael Sirak.

PIGGIE DINNER: Tickets are available for our Piggie (Halupki) Dinner that will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Church Hall. Dinner will consist of 2 Piggies, Mashed Potatoes, Vegetable, Bread & butter, Dessert and Beverage. The tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Serving sit down dinner from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Take- outs will be available from 4:00 – 5:00 PM. Donations of gifts for the Chinese Auction will be greatly appreciated. Mary Ann Kachinko will be the chairperson for the Chinese Auction and if you have a donation for this please call Mary Ann at 779-4502. Of course, all of our good bakers will come through with their fine desserts, which will be most helpful and appreciated.

SYMPATHY: We extend our sincere Sympathy to the family of Julia Oldenski who was called to her eternal rest. May her memory be eternal.

TURKEY–FEST: SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre, will hold their 10th annual TURKEY-FEST on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, in the school hall, corner of North River and West Chestnut Streets, Wilkes-Barre. This event will feature a traditional turkey dinner, variety raffle and mini-festival. Dinners will be $8.50 for adults and $6.00 for children. Take-outs will be available. Walk-Ins welcome but reservations are encouraged – call (570)824-6090. This year we ask that those attending bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Food Pantry of the Catholic Community of North Wilkes-Barre – Holy Savoir/St. Christopher. Those donating a food item will be entered into our door prize drawing.

LUC MEETING: North Anthracite Council League of Ukrainian Catholics of America will hold their next monthly meeting Sunday, November 1, 2009. at Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, 240 Center St. Nanticoke, PA. Prayer Service will begin at 2:00 PM. The meeting, fellowship and social will follow. All members are asked to attend. Attend and hear about the wonderful experiences from our successful LUC National Convention in Pittsburgh PA. We welcome guests

NEW WALL CABINET FOR OUR SHROUD: Thanks to the donations made by Catherine & Charles Halloway, the donations from Jule Wido & Family in memory of Frank Wido, and the donations from Vera Hubick in memory of Peter Hubick this cabinet was made to order by Holoviak’s in Berwick, to preserve the Shroud. Our appreciation for all donations made for the improvements of our Church and for needed items.
