Rev. Volodymyr Popyk is relieved of his responsibilities as Pastor
of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church in Trenton, NJ and is
assigned as Pastor of Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church in Nanticoke, PA and as Administrator of Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Plymouth, PA.
Rev. Popyk will serve the Divine Liturgies on Aug. 4/5 in our parish.

SANCTUARY LIGHT: The Sanctuary light is requested to burn this week July 28-Aug.4 by John & Michaelene Ostrum to celebrate the Christening of Ayla Verena Schaeppert.

LUC CONVENTION: The North Anthracite Council has been planning the upcoming 74th Convention to be held at the Ramada Hotel, Wilkes-Barre, October 12, 13, and 14, 2012. Theme: “LIVING OUR FAITH AND HERITAGE” If you would like to place an ad, be a Patron or Booster the organization would certainly appreciate it. To be a patron is $10 and a Booster $5. Raffle tickets are available $1 a ticket or $5 for 6 tickets– prizes are 1st $100, 2nd $50 – 3rd $50 and 4, 5, 6, 7 $25. Tickets can be purchased through Geri Kolotelo, Ann Beshada or Catherine Halloway. Helping the LUC is helping your heritage.

Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church invites the public to a “Taste of the Parish,” August 12, 2012, from 12PM to 6PM, at the church hall and festival grounds, located at the corner of Bliss and Center Streets, in the Hanover Section of Nanticoke. Transfiguration Church is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this September, and the Taste of the Parish is the culmination of cultural and spiritual activities that have taken place throughout the year. Food will include a sampler platter of potato pancakes; pierogies; halushki; halupki; borscht; and kielbasa sliders. Beverage & dessert are included. Tickets are being pre-sold at $10. (Cost at the door is $12). The afternoon will also feature bingo, a basket raffle, and children’s games. Call 824-4603 for more information.

SUBSTITUTE PRIEST: We welcome Rev. Uriy Markevych to celebrate the Divine Liturgies this weekend. Father Roman will return for the last weekend in July 28/29. Father Roman will be moving to his new assignment on Monday, July 30th. Our Parish new administrator will be at our Parish on Saturday, Aug. 4th for his first Divine Liturgy in his new assignment

UKRAINIAN SEMINARY DAY: The 78th Annual Ukrainian Seminary Day will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at St. Nicholas Picnic Grove, Route 901, Primrose, PA. The festival will begin with Metropolitan Archbishop Stefan Soroka celebrating the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas (air conditioned) Hall at the Picnic Grove. The outside Festival begins at 12:00 noon, – Food, Arts & Crafts, Cold refreshing drinks, and other activities. Entertainment will he provided by KAZKA ensemble. Live Polka Broadcast from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM by WPPA AM 1360 “PA Villagers Polka Band” will entertain for your listening and dancing pleasure. Home-Made ethnic foods and desserts will be available throughout the day. Admission and parking is free. Buses are welcome
