LENTEN AFTERNOON OF REFLECTION: On Sunday March 13, 2011 the Sister of St. Basil The Great will present a Lenten Afternoon of Reflection at the Basilian Spiritual Center,7710 Fox Chase Road, Fox Chase Manor, PA from 2:00-5-oo PM.
Presenter is Archpriest Daniel Troyan. The Topic: “Be Still and Know that I am God.”
A celebration of the Priceless Human Soul. A day of meditation, forgiveness and healing based upon the Prayer of St. Ephraim: Donation is $25 and registration must be made by March 7, 2011. Forms for registration can be obtained if you are interested.
BUS TRIP: The Ukrainian Heritage Council of Northeastern Pennsylvania is sponsoring a bus trip to the annual St. George Ukrainian Street Festival on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Side trips will include the World Trade Center site and Little Italy/Chinatown. The 55 passenger bus will depart from St. Vladimir Church, 430 North Seventh Avenue, Scranton at 8:00am and will leave New York City at 9:00 pm. Donation is $33.00 per person. Full advance payment reserves a seat. No refunds. For additional information and reservations phone 563-2275. MYASOPUSNA: This year’s Myasopusna (Meatfare) Celebration will be held at Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall (Nanticoke) on Sunday, February 27, 2011, from noon to 4:00 PM. SANCTUARY LIGHT: The Sanctuary Light is requested to burn the week of
February 5 – 12 by all the Grandchildren in memory of John & Anna Rudeski.
ALTAR CANDLES: The Altar Candles to burn on the Altar for the month of February is requested by Michael & Louise Hubiack in memory of Michael’s mother Mary Hubiack and Louise’s mother Frances Pliska.
The months of July, August and September are still available for requests to have the Altar Candles burn for a month in memory of, in honor of or any special occasion. The cost is $40 for the full month.
The new Sanctuary Light chart is available for your intention. Choose the week you would like to request as soon as possible as it fills up fast.

PIGGIE DINNER: Our Parish Piggie Dinner will be held on Thursday, March 24th, serving from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and take outs from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Dinner will include 2 Piggies, Mashed Potatoes, vegetable, bread and butter, dessert and beverage. The cost is $8.00 per adult and $4.00 for children 12 and under. A Chinese auction will be conducted. Any donations toward this affair would be greatly appreciated. Tickets will be available soon.
