TURKEY-FEST: SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre will hold their 14th annual TURKEY-FEST on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM, in the school hall, corner of North River and West Chestnut Streets, Wilkes-Barre. This event will feature a traditional turkey dinner, festival games and a variety raffle. Dinners will be $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for children. Take-outs available. Walk-Ins Welcome but Reservations are encouraged. Bring along your non-perishable food item donations for a local food pantry and enter to win in our door prize raffle.”

SPAGHETTI DINNER: Saint Vladimir’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 70 Zerby Ave., Edwardsville, Pa., will sponsor a TAKE-OUT ONLY SPAGHETTI DINNER on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Pickup from 4 pm. – 7 p.m., at the hall entrance in the rear of the church building. Menu includes: Spaghetti with meat sauce, meatballs, tossed salad, Italian bread and butter, home-baked desserts. All food prepared with love by our parishioners. One price only: $9 per dinner. Take-out or eat in our hall. Advance orders suggested. Proceeds help Saint Vladimir’s Church meet its mortgage payments. Your support will be greatly appreciated!

SANCTUARY LIGHT: The Sanctuary Light is requested to burn this week Oct. 36 – Nov. 2 by Arlene Jones for a Special Intention.

SYMPATHY: We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Anna Dempsey who was called to her eternal rest. Anna was our parish oldest member. May her memory be Eternal. Vychnya Pomyat!
Our sympathy is also extended to the family of Daniel Bilak who was called to his eternal rest this week.

BUILDING/IMPROVEMENT FUND: Our thanks to those who contributed to our Building/Improvement Fund in memory of Anna Dempsey: Joe & Martha Dempsey, Michael & Dolores Sinko, Louise Hubiack, Mary Ann & Donna Kachinko, Ann Beshada, The Halloways, Al Michalak, Dorothy Smith & Sandy & Patrick McAndrew. For a total of $235. Your generous donations are greatly appreciated.

COUNCIL MEETING: The Parish Council will meet on this Monday, October 28th , which was cancelled from last week, in the parish hall at 6:30 PM. This is in conjunction with Transfiguration of Our Lord Council to make preparations for the THE SHROUD OF TURIN: The Shroud of Turin will be exhibited in our parish, SS Peter & Paul, UCC in Plymouth, PA. The replica of the Shroud will be displayed from March 2 to March 15, 2014. Anyone interested in participating in this wonderful and religious event is welcome to attend the meetings.

PYROHY PROJECT: A Pyrohy Project will be held on December 2nd . An order sheet is in the vestibule. Please order as soon as possible as the cut off date will be November 25th. The Pyrohy’s are $7 a dozen. Help is definitely needed so please if you can help with this project for your church come and lend a hand. There is a job for everyone.

WOMEN’S SOCIETY SALE: The Women’s Society Rummage Sale, held last weekend was a huge success. An account will be given after the bills are paid. Thanks to all the fine parishioners and their families who contributed items for the sale. Anna Magill and the helpers did a great job in organizing and working very hard to conduct the sale. A thank you to the help of all the Women Society workers for their time and effort they contributed to help make this a very successful event.
