FEAST DAY: We as a Parish Family will celebrate the Feast Day of Saints Peter & Paul on Saturday, July 2nd. The Divine Liturgy for this Feast Day will be celebrated on this date at 4:00 PM and there will be no Divine Liturgy on Sunday, July 3 in order to have all the parishioners participate in the Saturday Divine Liturgy. All in attendance are invited to the Parish Hall after the Divine Liturgy for a Parish Social. This Social is open to all parishioners. Please be among the faithful to celebrate our church Feast Day. Sign up for the count as preparations must be made. Come all, welcome!
FEAST DAY OF THE NATIVITY OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST
Saint John the Baptist, son of Zachary and Elizabeth, is the greatest of the prophets. He prepared the people of Israel for the arrival of the Messiah, and therefore he is called the Precursor of Christ. He is also known as “Baptist” because he baptized Jesus Christ in the waters of the river Jordan.
This feast dates back to the third century, for Saint Augustine (354-430) said that it was based upon a tradition of the Fathers.
