8:30 AM God’s Blessings and Good Health for all Parishioners

Metropolitan Stefan Soroka has chosen to retire for medical reasons and the Church has accepted his resignation effective Monday the 16th of April.  The Eparchial Administrator will be Auxiliary Bishop Andriy Rabiy until the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church elects and enthrones a new Metropolitan for the Philadelphia Archeparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.  What this means for us is that largely nothing will change.  Remember to keep Metropolitan Emeritus Stefan Soroka in your prayers as you do Metropolitan Emeritus Stephen Sulyk.

THE PARALYTIC MAN
The Church shows us that just as the paralyzed man was healed after thirty-eight years, so every sinner can be cured from his sins and infirmities, if he turns to the risen Christ. The Holy Fathers of the Church affirm that the bathing-pool, which was named Bethesda in Hebrew, represents the Sacrament of penance.
Penance is a sacrament in which the priest, in the name of God, forgives sins committed after baptism when the sinner is heartily sorry for them, sincerely confesses them and is resolved to amend his life and to perform the penance imposed upon him by the confessor.

SANCTUARY LIGHT: The Sanctuary light is requested to burn this week April 21 – 28 by The Halloway Family in memory of Sallie Halloway Bout.

SVIACHENE: Our thanks to those who attended the Sviachene last Sunday. It was a nice affair, but sorry to say the attendance from our parish was not very good. This was the first time to try to have the two parishes together for this affair. Maybe in the future we will have a better cooperation from our parish.

BUILDING FUND: Our thanks and appreciation for the donations of $335 received for our Parish Building Fund in memory of Michael Bigus: Mr. & Mrs. Charles Morgan, Mary Kotch, and Jule Obrien.

LILIES: If anyone would like to take a lily plant for their home to be planted please take them after the Divine Liturgy.
