BUS TRIP: North Anthracite Council of the League of Ukrainian Catholics is sponsoring a bus trip to the 22nd Annual Ukrainian Folk Festival at the Ukrainian American Sport Center – “Tryzub” – in Horsham, PA on Sunday, August 25, 2013.
The event which begins at 12 noon and ends at 8:00pm will highlight a stage concert of colorful Ukrainian folk dancers as well as musicians from Ukraine and the United States. Ukrainian ethnic foods, standard picnic fare, baked goods, cool refreshments, Ukrainian arts /crafts bazaar and children’s fun area will be available.
The 55 passenger AJ Limo Coach bus will pick up in Berwick at 9:00am, Edwardsville at 9:45am and Scranton at 10:15am. Cost is $35.00 per person which includes admission ticket to the Festival. WOMESN’S SOCIETY: The last meeting until September for the Women’s Society will be held Tuesday, June 11th. We will meet in the Church parking lot at 5:00 PM and proceed to Keeley’s Restaurant in Kingston. All who will be attending please be at the parking lot.

CLEAN CHURCH: We wish to thank the ladies and one gentleman who cleaned the church this week. Your help is greatly appreciated and needed. God bless all of our volunteers in this parish.

PRAYERS: A request was presented to have prayers for one of our Parishioners, Barbara Cembrock who has been in intensive care. Please remember her in your prayers and all those in need of healing.

INTERNATIONAL DINNER CLUB: St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 320 Mifflin Ave., Scranton, Pa. International Dinner Club is featuring Russian Cuisine on the 13th of June, 2013. Seating’s are at 5:30 and 6:30pm. The menu will start with a hearty Hot Borscht Soup followed by Beef Stroganoff served over Lapsha, Butternut Squash Pelmini, and Fresh Baked Russian Rye Bread. The dessert will be Homemade Kolachi. Complimentary glass of Beer or wine! We also have drink specials with imported Russian Stolichnaya Vodka. The price is $25.00 per person. The deadline is June 10, 2013.

SVIACHENE: We would like to thank all who attended, made donations, delicious
desserts, prepared the food and helped in any way to make our Parish Family
Sviachene a memorable occasion. The gifts received for the Chinese Auction will be
used at our next affair. The attendance was at a low count and we did not conduct the
Auction at this dinner. Thanks again to all who made this affair possible especially all
the non-parishioners who attended.
PASKA BREAD: A special thanks to Mary Oshirak, her daughter Ann Marie & Barry Klimusyka for their baking and donation of 15 loaves of Paska Bread. The bread was served at our Easter Dinner and one loaf was placed on each table and was won by one of the persons at the tables.

CARNATION SALE: Please remember your mother on this Mother’s Day weekend by purchasing a Carnation at the entrance of the Church. If you wish to leave a Memorial to your Mother, a vase is placed near the Blessed Mother Icon. The Proceeds from this drive promotes the Sanctity of Human life. A volunteer is needed to sell the carnations on Saturday & Sunday May 11/12. Please contact Ann Beshada if you can be available for this project.

And the tickets sold are mostly from non-parishioners. This is a once a year affair to have the Parish Family and their friends get together. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for Children 10-12. Please if you intend to join your parish family get your tickets as tickets will not be sold at the door. We wish to thank those who donated gifts for the Chinese Auction – Anna Koprowski – a clock radio, Anonymous – coffee pot, Paul & Marion Rose – Slow cooker, a monetary gift from Catherine Halloway, we sincerely appreciate your generosity.

LOTTERY TICKETS: Tickets are still available for you to purchase a few lottery tickets for next month. Your help in this project is greatly appreciated.
